An amazing journey into the world of Van Gogh with a visit of Arles. Also enjoy discovering the beautiful villages of St Remy and Les Baux de Provence.
Duration of tour: 5 hours
On this tour, you will drive through the sumptuous village of St Remy, symbolising the essence of Provence, with its fountains, alleyways and boulevards shaded by plane trees. After a stop at 'Les Antiques', a Gallo-Roman settlement which thrived in St Remy during the final days of the Roman Empire and sites painted by Van Gogh next to St Paul de Mausole, you continue onto Les Baux de Provence, a village whose spectacular site is composed of a bare rock spur with vertical ravines on either side and a fortified castle lying in ruins, which was once a proud fortress. After visiting this medieval village, Fontvielle, a walking tour of Arles will show you the arenas, Antic Theatre and other main sites painted by Van Gogh during his stay in Arles. You will have free time for lunch in a provencal market.
