Alsace France's third most important wine making region ( after Bordeaux and Burgundy ) has been producing wine uninterruptedly since about the year 300 AD. These days, the region makes almost exclusively white wines.

The Route du Vin can be easily visited by car but it's also possible to explore the area on bycicle or by hopping on and off local buses.
