We will explore this area where a dramatic period of history took place, The Somme Battlefields and its major sites (memorials, cemeteries and traces of battles) : Delville Wood at Longueval, The Lochnagar Crater at La Boisselle, Pozière, The Welsh Memorial at Mametz Wood, Thiepval, The Ulster Tower, Beaumont-Hamel site and the Newfoundland memorial, Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, the Historial in Péronne.
